More accurate engagement tracking

Product Update

Open and click tracking has always had a noise problem. When Gmail pre-fetches links your engagement metrics record an "open" or a "click" that didn't come from a real human decision.

This distorts your data in ways that matter. Inflated open rates make it harder to identify genuinely engaged users. False click signals pollute your A/B test results. Delivery decisions based on bad engagement data compound the problem over time.

AhaSend now detects and filters these 'proxy interactions' automatically.

What's new

Open and click tracking now correctly identifies email proxy activity from Gmail, Yahoo, Apple Mail Privacy Protection, Superhuman, and Fastmail. Interactions originating from these proxies are flagged separately rather than counted as genuine engagement, giving you a cleaner signal on what's actually happening with your email.

Apple MPP detection deserves a specific mention. Most implementations identify Apple MPP by matching user agent strings, a method that's increasingly unreliable as Apple's privacy infrastructure has evolved. AhaSend's detection uses IP range verification as the primary method, cross-referenced against user agent data. This is more accurate and more resistant to the false positives that pure user agent matching produces.
